The development on Libra Road, close to Plaistow station, comes on the back of RDV’s successful development in Stratford, The Tanneries, which launched in February 2016, and Nelson Street in East Ham, which was completed in September 2016. Planning committee approval has also been granted for 77 units in Grange Road, Plaistow and 185 units at Town Hall Annexe and Brian Didsbury Centre in East Ham.
The Mayor of Newham, Sir Robin Wales, said: “Red Door Ventures is making a significant local contribution to alleviating the capital’s housing crisis and I am delighted to officially launch the latest properties they have developed.
“The initiative is going from strength to strength, directly addressing the lack of high quality homes in the borough while making a commercial return for the council which can be invested in enhancing other services for our residents.”
Lesley-Anne Alexander CBE, Chair of Red Door Ventures continues: “2017 has already been a significant year for Red Door Ventures with the planning approval of some key developments for the company and now the launch of our third development, Gregory House. We are delighted that the Mayor could join us to mark this significant event.
“Our vision is to provide high quality homes for private rent with additional services and facilities to make residents’ lives as easy as possible. Furniture and soft furnishing packages will be available meaning residents have the option of just moving in with their suitcases! We have already received a great deal of interest prior to the opening of the show apartment.”
Designed by award winning architects Bell Phillips and built by HG Construction Gregory House creates a three sided cul de sac with a dynamic folding façade that brings life to the street and provides recessed balconies or gardens for each dwelling, which are angled to maximize sunlight from the south.
The scheme complies with London Housing Design Guide standards. Good size windows and a light shaft introduces excellent natural daylight throughout, reducing reliance on artificial lighting.
The apartments at Gregory House are ideal for young professionals, couples and friends looking for high quality accommodation, managed by a trustworthy and exemplar landlord and within easy reach of transport links.
A show apartment will also be available for prospective tenants to view from the end of April and available for rent from May. Prices start from £1250 per calendar month for a one bedroom apartment and from £1450 per calendar month for a two bedroom apartment.
