Located in a conservation area, and next to East Ham old fire station, the development features three former cottages which previously provided accommodation for firefighters. The cottages have been carefully restored to provide six stunning new apartments for rent.
The Mayor of Newham, Sir Robin Wales said: “Red Door Ventures continues to go from strength to strength. These cottages have been redeveloped to create high quality homes, further increasing Red Door Ventures portfolio of properties.
“These properties have already been let out showing there is a clear demand for these homes. Red Door Ventures directly addresses the lack of high quality homes in the borough as making a commercial return for the council, which can be invested in other services. I am proud of what this company has achieved so far and with even more schemes already in the pipeline, I look forward to seeing it continue to grow.”
Lesley-Anne Alexander CBE, Chair of Red Door Ventures comments. “With home ownership in London at its lowest level since 1986, these apartments are providing people with an alternative rental offering of high quality homes managed by a trustworthy landlord.”
Kent Taylor, Finance Director for Red Door Ventures continues, “We are delighted that the Mayor of Newham was able to officially mark the completion of our latest development. The demand for these quality homes has been strongly confirmed by the fact that all of these stunning new homes have been let prior to completion, with new tenants moving in next month.”
Working with Ranne Creative Interiors, each cottage has been restored to create an internal living space perfect for 21st century living, with sleek, contemporary kitchens and bathrooms, oak flooring and solid timber front doors, which are in keeping with the local street scene. The homes were designed to meet the Code for Sustainable Homes level 4, with high levels of energy efficiency and reduced running costs and will have Secure by Design certification.
